:: Barnett Maternity :: Redlands Maternity Photographer

It was a warm evening with a slight breeze. We had mapped out a couple locations around Redlands in hopes of finding some beautiful light and creating some good times. I was thrilled when Sondra asked me to take her maternity pictures. I have known Sondra for years, and  yet, had only heard wonderful things about Tommy. It was nice to finally put a face to name that I had heard so much about.

I met Sondra working at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Tommy also works  at the hospital and  is attending University of Redlands for a business major. As we drove around on our location adventure I asked Tommy what his end goal was with his business classes, and what type of job he would like to have along with what is his dream job. It didn’t take long for Tommy to answer back with a simple but heartfelt “ My dream would be to have a good enough job so Cassondra could stay home with our kids”  When Tommy spoke those words, my heart became mush for them. There is no better answer than that. There is no better choice than that! When you come to that point in life where you stop living for yourself and start living for others is the moment you become a better person. I have no doubt Sondra and Tommy are going to make the most amazing parents. These two are adorable together. There were several times I asked different things of them and without even looking at one another they would react the same, or give the same facial expressions. It was fun to watch them interact with each other and the softness between them.

This little girl they are expecting is very lucky to have two wonderful people as her parents. The only thing we shall ask of her is to stay inside until her due date and stop giving her mom so many problems.

These are the memories. . .

A new week is coming and I am thrilled. This last week was rough with little Miss Bailey Boo … My almost two year old is teething, and it hasn’t been fun. I have a love hate relationship with teething. It sucks to see your kids in pain and miserable. At times you feel helpless, because let’s face it there isn’t a whole lot you can do. And you might think you kid is bi-polar while teething, one minute they are happy playing all alone and the next, it is like a living monster trying to climb your leg just so you’ll hold them. Which brings me to the love, and then love-hate again. I LOVE, love, love, the cuddles. Oh my! When they just want to lay there on your chest like a limp piece of lettuce and not move.. It’s like a little piece of heaven is here on earth. And then to look down and see they have fallen asleep.. ahhhh It’s that moment you dreamt about as a little girl. It’s what you thought parenthood would be all about, the love, the cuddles, laying on the couch not doing a thing but making your child feel better every second of the day….. AND THEN.. reality hits when they start squirming to get comfortable, crying in-between each move, and you remember you have laundry in piles everywhere, dishes and in the sick, dust multiplying by the second OHHH, and another child that hasn’t had lunch yet and is currently yelling on the toilet for you to wipe his behind! Yes. this is life with a teething child. I wish I could say I won’t miss these days, but I WILL miss these days.  Knowing Bailey is the last, I want to savor each little moment  of these times. Any minute my kids want to cuddle I’ll take. Logan is just now entering the ‘I wipe off all your kisses’ stage and I have to pretend it’s not killing me….. so here’s to hoping that will end soon.  And here’s to hoping for a better week, with no teething issues.

Happy Sunday from the Sons…

:: Liam is ONE ::

When I think of Liam, I think of the biggest piercing blue eyes that can light up a room. A smile that is contagious and a little boy I have watched grow for a year now! A WHOLE YEAR I have watched this kid grow and change every three months. It’s been pretty awesome. And over the course of that year I have also gained a good friend in his mom. We have also learned that Liam does not take good pictures unless his dad is there to make him smile! Hey! It happens. ;)
I cannot wait to watch this little guy grow in the years to come. I'm sure he will be a stud and have to beat woman off. Some people are just lucky like that!

:: The C Family :: Redlands Family Photographer

This family is so wonderful and it is amazing to me we had never met until the day I took their pictures. We know several of the same people and I think I have taken pictures of half of their friends.

Leah was a winner from the beginning of the year when I had a little contest to see who could guess the correct number of sessions I did for 2011. Leah was one number off and soo close, so I offered her a session at a discounted price. It’s always a bummer to come in second place, I know this from experience, so I thought I would make second place a little better.

I could not get enough of these two handsome boys. They are so full of life and smiles, it was hard to choose my favorite pictures. It’s not often kids this age will cooperate for pictures, or dare sit long enough for me to snap a good one without blur. When we first started I asked the boys to sit on my yellow basket. I was prepared to start with bribery and then go to funny noises. I was amazed when they both sat down and just smiled!!!!! ahhhhh it was like the sky opened and singing came from up above…. then we had the most amazing session with real smiles and laughs. Doesn’t get any better than that.
