:: Saving the best for last | Reche Canyon Maternity::

I had asked Nichole to come back to my house so we could finish up some last minute ideas I had from our previous shoot. We were pushed for light and I didn’t want her to miss out. I am so glad she agreed to come back. We rocked out some last pictures in the most perfect lighting. . .  You can also see these pictures and more here.

:: Lauren | College Graduate ::

I knew from the minute I met this girl I had met a friend. It instantly felt like we had know each other for years. I met her on the perfect day, she made me appreciate my job and being able to meet such wonderful people along the way.

This girl has is going on, she is super smart, funny, has a wonderful boyfriend and luckily for me, a little wild since I took her on an adventure ride. She will be graduating from Cal Baptist in kinesiology soon, and on the other hand, I can’t even pronounce the word correctly! It is inspiring to talk to people with goals and to be around positive people. Lauren is one of those people. When you are around her you instantly feel comfortable. She has goals and hopes for her future and I can truly see her conquering anything she puts her mind to.

:: Miss C | ONE year ::

I cannot believe this little girl is turning a year old. I feel like it was just yesterday I was taking her newborn pictures.  I really thought I would have had an easier time taking her pictures since I do see her sometimes. Boy was I wrong! She didn’t care for me or my tricks one bit. We met the first day and realized we had one tired little girl on our hands. If you know me, you know I am all about my little ones and working around them. There is no need to stress over a cranky baby because most likely that will only make it worse. So they came back the next day and Miss C was in a better mood but she could still care less about me.

These are the sessions that make me think, make me work for it, and sometimes make me wonder what I am doing wrong if I can’t get a one year old to like me! But most of the time, these are my favorite sessions. I have to push myself to get every facial expression instead of waiting for those smiles. I have to let them get mad because sometimes their angry faces look like smiles, and most of all I just have to let them be. If I let them be and let them take the lead I can just follow and capture it. Wow, kind of sounds more like life advice than a photography blog, if ya ask me. . .

I cannot wait to see Miss C again, and I can only hope she will be happy to see me.

 

    

:: Deegan | 10 days new ::

This is one very handsome, special boy. I am sure he feels the love around him, but he has no idea yet of the overwhelming love and support he will always have in life. There is no other reason besides he comes from amazing two amazing parents. It also doesn’t hurt that he has the best nursery I have ever seen, it’s pretty rad, especially if you are an Angels fan! I loved being in this little guys presence along with the whole family. It is such an honor to be asked in to someone's home and being able to whitness the love and cuddles from the new parents. It’s an indescribable feeling to have a new baby at home, and even more surreal when it’s your first born. I love being able to whiteness this experience over and over. Thank you Mindy and Dylan for letting me experience that again with you. Congrats on your handsome son, I cannot wait to watch him grow.

 

    

  

:: B + M | Maternity ::

Before I begin, I have to let you all know about a little secret I have. . . I love maternity sessions!! There is just something about the excitement before a child is born, weather it is your first or your fourth. Brian and Melissa are anticipating the birth of the first child, a little baby girl. Knowing I am not having any more children, I love to feel that excitement from my clients. I love taking that energy and using during the session. Maternity sessions can be intimate, but also fun at the same time. And if you know me, I like to have fun and laugh during my sessions.  Brian and Melissa rocked it!! I loved meeting them and I loved everything about their session. We took the road less traveled and even saw some wildlife. Can’t wait to meet this new little girl in a couple months, hope you enjoy. . .
