::Liam|10 days:: {Riverside Newborn Photographer}

Liam sure is cute, but I have come to the conclusion he just doesn’t like me. His parents wanted me to come and and do birth photography when he was making his arrival into this world. Well, since he decided to be stubborn, he was born by c-section, which meant no birth photography. I have to admit I was bummed since I think it is the most amazing thing ever, but I was more glad that mama and Liam were doing just fine.

I had been talking to Lisa all week asking how she was doing and adjusting to motherhood. I have no doubt that her and Sean will make the most amazing parents. It is hard not to feel the love for this child when they are around him. It was refreshing to see a baby be so loved by two people. Only problem for me… Liam did NOT want to sleep. I was at their house for four hours and he maybe slept 20 minutes. Seriously!?! a 10 day old baby not sleeping for me? I thought I was a goner. I secretly was panicking inside trying to figure out how to pose him and what to do with a baby who I couldn’t bend and move around where I wanted him. Once I got home and looked through the pictures I felt a little better but I still was stressed. Then once I walked away and came back to the project I felt I pulled it off pretty good. If I can handle Mr. Liam, I can handle anything. I am excited to see this little guy grow up and watch what an amazing job his parents will do.

::Movin’ on up!::

I received a birthday gift this last week that I am hoping, no scratch that, has already helped me with my business and keeping things together and organized, which is something I have a terrible doing lately. From now on my contracts will be signed at your session and sent right to your e-mail right after you sign them. Wada-bing-wada-bang! done! yes, just that simple. Technology is killing me these days. I never thought I would be “that person” that has no clue what is going on in the world with the latest gadgets and furthermore “that person” who has no clue how to use them. Yes, I am “THAT PERSON”!! In the last six months I have gone to make two purchases for some latest and greatest. One being the PS3 for Christmas and the most recent being the ipad. When the sales people were talking to me explaining all the “great” things these items do and how they do them I just sat there with a smile on my face and nodded, agreeing every once in a while. When I was totally puzzled I would start my question with “now this might sound really dumb but.. how do you ___?” I know they were just being nice and doing their job but I could tell they were wondering if I crawled out from under a rock somewhere from some foreign land, since I knew nothing. When the Verizon sales rep was explaining stuff to me and kept referring to face time I smiled and nodded and then I asked;; “  umm, what is face time? I have no clue” his response, “oh wow, you really don’t know anything” haha. Umm.. ya! told Ya! After a couples hours of frustration from not knowing what I was doing and using my friend Google to find out everything, I am extremely happy with my birthday present. Which leads me to my next walk of shame for the week. My birthday is at the end of the month and as of a couple weeks ago I didn’t know what my current age was. I laid in bed with Wes arguing that I was a year old than I really am for a good ten minutes before I (did the math) and realized he was right (did ya hear that… he was right! it doesn’t happen often) and I was wrong, about my own age!!! Isn’t there something really wrong with that last sentence? I didn’t know my own age and I am only turning 28 ( which I thought was 29). wow.

So without any further delay. He are the new contracts that you will being signing. PLUS I now have a walking portfolio with me at all times! So if ya see me on the street and want to see some pictures, I got it! Just don’t ask me my age. I might lie, or not know the answer!.

::Senior.Nicole:: {Riverside, Mission Inn Senior Photographer}

I have been loving all of the senior pictures I have been doing, Nicole was no exception to that. She brought along her friend, Mom and Grandma. I love when my seniors bring along family or friends. I feel it always takes away that weird feeling of “wow, im the only one in the picture. Is my smile ok? Does my hair look ok? How should I stand? feeling” Yes, we all have these questions go through our head but when we have a distraction it is not as bad, plus I feel I get the see the “real” person when they interact with their family or laugh with their friends. I think that is what a picture should show, the real you!

We moseyed through the Mission Inn talking pictures as everyone looked at all the beautiful architecture of the building. I love old building like that. I just wish the walls could talk. Can you image how many stories they would have? I would love to hear all the stories.  Not only is the Mission Inn beautiful but so are the surrounding buildings.

I had fun with Nicole and her friend Tatum, I even threw them a curve ball and asked Tatum to take a couple pictures, she was hesitate but was a game player. I seriously couldn’t get over how tiny Nicole was, I secretly would LOVE to be that size. Only problem is I would most likely walk around naked and I don’t know how society would accept that. ;)

      

::Crawford Kids:: Idyllwild Children Photographer

What a trio these kids are! Between the three of them there is never a dull moment, to say the least. I can say this because I know the mom pretty darn well. I liked her enough to even have her in my wedding! Her husband already had two children and then they had little whitey Cash. They drove up the mountain so we could shoot in the woods. We we first decided to take pictures we just had plan A, which was to go to the lake. Place A then turned into place B, C and then D and along the way we ended up with pizza somehow. Let’s just say it was an adventure that even include zombie reindeer! haha In the end we made it out alive and walked away with a few good pictures, and I really only mean a few!

::Senior. JEFF:: {Reche Canyon Senior Photographer}

This was the most exhilarating shoot I have been on, ever! Jeff lives in Reche Canyon, a place I am very familiar with, since this is where I grew up, and lived until about 4 years ago. I couldn’t picture taking Jeff’s pictures at any of the usual spots so I asked if using the canyon would be ok and he thought that was a great idea. Jeff got this awesome truck for Christmas and I was going to make sure we put it to use. I had a couple favorite spots that I wanted him to drive to and then he had some ideas of his own. I hadn’t been off-roading in a very long time. At least since I had Logan and I forgot what the rush felt like when you are not in control of the vehicle sliding around on the dirt, or climbing hills. It felt exciting and scary all at the same time. I had a huge smile ear to ear, was trying to hold on to my camera and the “HOLY SNIKKIES” bar at the same time. We made up stories about drug Lords coming to get us and how we would get away and had many laughs. What 17 year old boy wants to get their pictures taken? not many! So I figure, lets make is fun so we both enjoy it. Because lets face it, when someone doesn’t want their picture taken it doesn’t make job any easier. Jeff was a trooper and a good spot about all my request from him. ;) I wish it had been a little later in the evening to get that sunset light but since Jeff had to work we had to go sooner. So we made it work, but I would love to take a few more of him later in the evening.

::Cara|8 Days:: {Reche Canyon Newborn Photographer}

Sweet baby Cara was so cute and cuddly until I wanted to undress her.  This girl did not like to be nakey, which in her parents eyes is ok, and I am sure they hope it will stay that way for a very long, long time.

I did Courtney’s maternity pictures a couple weeks ago and since then have been waiting for this little beauty to arrive. I seriously love newborns. It is so nice to love and cuddle them, and then give them back. Out of all the sessions I do, newborn sessions make me miss my kids the most. This session I didn’t even get the chance to miss them though. They were there! Courtney is my sis-n-laws neighbor and since her house in under construction we did them at my sister in laws. She has a huge, naturally lit living room which is perfect for a newborn session.  It was a warm day so I didn’t even need the floor heater, and we kept the ac off. Boy was I hot by the end of that shoot. Newborns make me work, they are no easy task. I thought Cara and I had a good relationship going on until she poo’d and peed on me, twice! Let’s just say that wasn’t the highlight of my day. : )

Cara, I cannot wait to see you grow and watch you conquer all the little milestones in the next year.
